Petrie Horticulture Centre
Masters Studio Project, 2016
The Petrie Community Horticulture Centre (PCHC) is a mixed use community building that primarily facilitates workshops around urban horticultural practices. The public facility is part of a larger university and urban renewal plan for the town of Petrie, and has four critical aims:
1. To facilitate the connection & involvement of both community and university
2. To encourage greater self sufficiency by expanding the knowledge and practical skills of the community
3. To foster a food culture by allowing the community to grow, cook & sample Petrie's produce
4. To support Petrie’s economy by distributing and selling produce from the urban farms, and providing employment opportunities for the community
