Bring Them Here, 2016
For BRASS
Recycled industrial paper, UV ink, string, UV lights.
The Haven installation was created for BRASS (Brisbane Asylum Seeker Support Network) for their event 'Bring Them Here' - an evening of music and speeches held in support of refugees and asylum seekers.
The intention of the work was to create a welcoming, 'haven' space around the stage and audience. Strips of recycled industrial paper were dipped in UV ink and suspended over the musicians and crowd, swaying gently throughout the evening to create a feeling a safety and calmness.
